Roy Fox Disc #6 CD354F
The final disc in this Roy Fox/Lew Stone/Nat Gonella series completes the Nat Gonella and his Georgians sides - at least
from the perspective of my record collection, up to 1938 then backsteps a few years to Nat's days with the Billy Cotton
Band, starting in 1931. With his Georgians, Nat Gonella usually took the vocals but Stella Moya sings an unusually heard
vocal version of Duke Ellington's Delta Serenade. Nat Gonella Personnel - Nat Gonella-t-c/ Bruts Gonella-Johnny Morrison-

Dryden-d/Nat Gonella was with Billy Cotton until July 1934. Born William Edward "Billy" Cotton on May 6, 1899, Billy
started as a choirboy and opted for drums as his instument. To enlist for WW1, he falsified his age and joined the the
Royal Fusiliers, serving in Malta and Egypt, landing at Gallipoli during an artillery barrage. Recommended for a
commission, he learned to fly Bristol Fighters. He flew solo for the first time in 1918, on the same day that the Royal
Flying Corps became the Royal Air Force. At the conclusion of the war, he took a gig with Arthur Rosebery - in a trio
called the Kit Kat Band. He toured in France during WWII and had a raadio show from 1949 until 1957 when his television
show started, continuing on the air till 1968. Billy Cotton General Personnel :Sid Buckman-Jack Doyle-Teddy Foster-Nat
