Al Bowlly was hired by Roy Fox to sing and play with his orchestra, stating that the location was to be restricted to the Monseigneur Restaurant in Piccadilly where he remained until 1932 when Lew Stone took over as director of the band. His contract allowed him to record with Ray Noble's Orchestra. Fox wanted to develop a stage band similar to Jack Hylton's band and Jack Upson - manager of the Monseigneur Restaurant was unhappy that these efforts were interfering with the band's availabilitry at the restaurant. Fox decided to move to the Cafe Anglaise and after much legal fighting, Al was allowed to sing with Lew Stone's band at the Monseigneur Restaurant late in October 1932. Roy Fox's musicians liked working with Lew Stone better than with Fox and chose to stay with Lew Stone. Foster Richardson - also known as George Baker - sings on a few numbers on this disc Here's the general personnel for the N.M.D.O.
