Elliott Shaw #2 mp3 Album Recorded 1927 - 1930 CD347b

Electrical recording was well established in 1927 when this disc commences. The Victor Mixed Chorus recorded a number of medleys of chestnuts from the gay 90's - Songs of the Past - this disc starts with medleys 3 and 4. You'll find a complete personnel info in the CD case behind the disc. Elliott Shaw was best known as a constant member of the Revelers but was active with other vocal groups as well. I have assembled four discs of the Victor Light Opera Company recorded from 1909 - 1930 which has a similar personnel to the Eveready Hour Group. Tracks 4 and 5 feature the EHG with nicely presented versions of Down South (Myddleton) and Goin' Home from Dvorak's New World Symphony. Very little is known about this versatile singer. I believe his last records were from 1931 - with the Revelers. All these tracks were transferred with a special digital hi-definition process for smoother, more natural sound ~Mickey Clark
